Jeff Jennings & Friends to perform at Vista Theater

Jennings

NEGAUNEE — Music to please fans of all genres is what the fourth edition of Jeff Jennings & Friends hits the Historic Vista Theater stage at 7 p.m. Saturday.

“The first edition was in 2001 and was a benefit for the AIDS Resource Center,” said Jennings, a Negaunee native who now resides in Green Bay, Wisconsin. “The next two editions were to benefit the local Alzheimer’s Association. This edition is a benefit for PAAC.”

The Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council is the organization that operates the Vista.

“We have such a big range of music,” Jennings said. “We have Payton Drew, a young lady from Negaunee High School who is amazing.”

Drew and Jennings will do a duet in addition to her solo performance.

Also on the bill are country rockers Shotgun Kelli; rockers Deano and the Jello Shooters; Bobby Glenn Brown offering his show-stopping rendition of “Beauty School Dropout” from this summer’s Lake Superior Theater production of “Grease”: soloist Linda Stanaway; accompanist Marcia Nora Hicks; and the Lakeview Kids Chorus.

From Shotgun Kelli, Kelli Bucholtz will duet with Jennings. She is the Negaunee High School choral director.

“We will also have special appearances by Mr. Upper Peninsula, Rob Kemp, and the 2017 Pioneer Princess Emmeline Chaudier, who will be helping with things like the silent auction,” Jennings said.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and for kids. They can be purchased in advance from Midtown Bakery in Negaunee, Snowbound Books in Marquette and Rare Earth Goods in Ishpeming.
